DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a countywide community conversation to discuss the Boundary Expansion and Management Plan Update of the Passages of the Western Potomac Heritage Area (PWPHA). The gathering will be held on Wednesday\, July 12\, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the Allegany Museum\, located at  3 Pershing Street in Cumberland\, MD.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend so feel free to spread the word. \n\nThe PWPHA is an important funding mechanism available through the Maryland Heritage Areas Authority.  It allows eligible applicants to apply for capital and non capital grants to enhance heritage tourism opportunities in their community.   We hope you can attend and encourage your participation in this important project.\n\n\nFor questions please contact the CPPDA at 301-724-3655 Ext 100.  Or send emails to deidra.ritchie@maryland.gov.  Please come out and support your community\, and please share this invite through your own mailing lists. DESCRIPTION:The July 13\, 2023 meeting will be held at Frostburg State University\, Center for Communications & Internet Technology (Gira Center)\, Room 397 at 9:30am. As this meeting will include an open discussion with Acorn Hill on the further expansion and development of the Passages of the Western Potomac Heritage Area we encourage everyone to attend in person to give their input to the questions asked by Acorn Hill. DESCRIPTION:Story Time – Round up the kids and bring them to Canal Place for Story Time! Meet the librarians for a fun time reading down at the Basin Plaza (by the Shops at Canal Place). If the crowd is large you may find them at the Festival Grounds right next door.  Be sure to be there for the handing out of crafts and books to keep the little ones busy during the summer.
