Out Run ALS –  Grab your shoes and let’s get ready to Out Run ALS. Choose between a 5 Mile Run or a 1.5 Mile Walk on the Great Allegheny Passage. Registration begins at 7am with the race happening at 8am.  There are discounts to early registration. Start and Finish at Canal Place by the Mule!

Proceeds from the race (after expenses are deducted) will first be donated to local warriors in need of assistance for home improvements, cost of treatment, etc. If there are no warriors at the time of the race, proceeds will be donated to the Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia chapter of the ALS Association. The 2019 event was able to raise $6,000 for a local warrior! Unfortunately, no cure exists for this disease, nor a treatment that stops or reverses it. Half of all people affected with ALS live at least three or more years after diagnosis. Twenty percent live five years or more. Up to ten percent will live more than ten years. According to the alsworldwide.org, annual care for an ALS patient surpasses $200,000. Together, we can make a difference!
