NAACP Allegany County Branch Unit #7007 presents the Second Annual Juneteenth Festival. June 18, Noon-6pm, June 19, 11am-5pm.

The theme of this years event is “Our History, Our Story, Our Legacy”.

On Saturday, June 18 (Noon -6pm) following a parade down Washington Street, the festivities begin at Canal Place with live music from local bands (The Blaze Band, and Mickey Ross) as well as 4 Life Project Go Go Band (from the DMV) and Space (from New Jersey). Be sure to come for the FREE Community pig roast and cook out.

On Sunday, June 19 (11am-5pm) there will be a Gospel Explosion and the festival will include African Storytelling, with performances from Gospel artists Body of Evidence Go Go Gospel, Tyrone Snowden and Dave Newell.

On BOTH DAYS there will also be a Health Fair, Kid Zone and vendors from all over Maryland.

Enjoy your day of reading but please be respectful of those that are still practicing social distancing or wearing a mask.  The public bathrooms by the Shops at Canal Place will be open for use and to allow for frequent hand washing as well.
