A Charming 19th Century Federal mansion

The C. William Gilchrist Gallery and Museum is a charming early 19th-century Federal mansion, in transitional Federal-Greek Revival architectural style. It houses six renovated galleries, an art library, a costume collection, a permanent collection, and landscaped gardens.

It is the setting for monthly art exhibits by nationally recognized artists working in a wide range of mediums. The museum also emphasizes local and state history and culture.

In addition, there are lectures, discussions, and performances scheduled throughout the season to highlight various aspects of the exhibitions. The organization is committed to maintain and restore the historic structure and grounds and providing visual and performing arts education to the community while contributing to economic and tourism development in the area.

The Gallery is open to the public on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 1-4 PM. There is no admission charge, but donations are greatly appreciated in order to keep this non-profit gem alive and serving the community.

The C. William Gilchrist Mansion is also available to rent for special events, receptions, and parties.
